Once used predominantly to make maps more approachable, scientific charts less daunting and as key learning tools for children, inforgraphics have now permeated all aspects of the modern world.

An infographic or information graphic is a visual element such as a chart, map, diagram that helps people to understand a set of statistics, data, knowledge, indepth content or any type of text-based content. Infographics convey their message in a much more powerful way, the reader experiences the information visually and on a much more personal level.

Types of Infographics

There are 3 types of Infographics from city based crime rates and the evolutionary timelines to the percentage of people who use facebook as apposed to other social networks.

01. Statistical Based InfoGraphics

These are infographics that show bar charts, pie charts and summerize a lot of statistical data. They can be shown as graphs, diagrams, tables, maps and lists and make it easier for readers to understand the numbers shown as data.

02. TimeLine Based InfoGraphics

A timeline based infographic is a chronological sequence of events along a line, the graphic helps the viewer understand the events or trends in relation the specific subject.

03. Location or Geography Based InfoGraphics

These types of graphics can be anything from a global wealth map, to city based crime rates and district based politcal movements.
