How to run a popular Facebook Poll

Brief: To acquire more fans & find out what Facebook audiences feel about certain topics

Plan: To utilise a Facebook specific tool to gather data and then use this data to feed for blog topics

Action: I watched the news and networks to see the types of topics people were interested in. Some topics will seam pretty mundane, but the easier the topic the more interaction on facebook. Facebook audiences are Joiners, they want easy answers, simple ways to join a page or tool & anything that made sharing even easier would be more desirable.

The tool I use is called Poll and is an awesome way to get a Poll up and running in seconds. But how do you get more fans with this Poll tool?

When launching a poll you can click a choice of promoting it, this gives you a few options that will open your Poll up to a much bigger audience. You can invite friends to vote, of course publish it to your own wall, you can also publish on a fan page and lastly you can choose to pay for the poll to go out much further than your circle of influence. Prices vary and you can select which geograph contingent the Poll goes to. This does not mean that you will automatically get 500 votes, the question still needs to be something people can answer, for example: a question about a brand they might not know or a question that is difficult for them to answer.
