Viral idea for a 1st time novelist

Posted on 22. Oct, 2011 by in blog

Breif: To change the way people look at Twitter

Plan: To create a character that gets attention quickly based solely on people’s perception of them. To promote this via top blog editors to make it look viable as an idea and turn the communities on their head for a while.

The Dinner_guest twitter account went live at 1.53PM Nov 10th with the post shown below. I then tweeted a few people in my network that I had found this bizarre account and they should check it out.

This then appeared on Techcrunch and Mike Butcher was at the head of it, this is when i realised that this could go viral.

And from here it took off and the Twitter audience globally began to fear that an unknown quantity was in their midst, and suddenly things weren’t funny anymore.

Outcome:

How to go viral in the Poker industry

Posted on 22. Oct, 2011 by in blog

This was designed for a poker website and the aim of this was to show that the client knew their stuff, and to give the brand more exposure. So after the initial viral push, the article was exposed as a a fake and the client explained why they thought this was thus getting their name mentioned as part of the hype.
